Languages: English & Spanish
Location: Instructors present the classes at your site!

A Parent Project® series of six sessions for parents raising difficult 5-10 year-olds. The program offers parents a concrete framework for working with highly emotional, impulsive and oppositional younger children. With a special application to ADD/ADHD issues, "Loving Solutions" makes raising difficult children a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Understanding the strong-willed, difficult child and learning the skills to handle challenging situations can make the difference in successfully helping a child grow up safe, strong and capable.

Loving Solutions provides guidelines for parents to determine when they need a "rule," what issues are negotiable, when parents can negotiate with children, how to use time-outs properly to gain substantial behavior change, how to get children to cooperate with household chores, to get along better with siblings and improve school success.

Sessions include: Parenting the Strong-Willed Child; Ideals, Rules and Tools; Responding to Our Children’s Choices; Structuring for Success; Concrete Solutions for Tough Kids; Recognizing and Supporting Success; and Children with ADD/ADHD.

Parents Learn How to:

  • "Out-will" the strong-willed children
  • Influence and motivate difficult children
  • Build family relationships
  • Ways to use structure and supervision to improve school performance
  • Manage conflict and instill positive self-esteem
  • Work effectively with ADD/ADHD children

Testimonials from Parents

"This group has helped my children and I in a lot of ways. I am able to be a lot more patient and use techniques to calm myself before I approach my children. Instead of screaming and yelling at my children, I can speak with them in a calm manner. I have learned to praise my children for the positive behaviors, discipline them for the negative behaviors, and redirect them to the positive. I have learned to listen to my children and their needs. I have seen a huge difference in the way my family interacts with each other. I feel this class has helped us a great deal. Thank you."

"'Loving Solutions' has helped my with my child's behaviors a great deal. I've learned to talk with my child in a more positive way and also to discipline in a positive way. Developing a 'calming plan' has helped me to improve my behavior toward my child. The book outlines specific techniques so well - it made it easier to understand and implement. The instructor was so helpful in explaining the material and adding his own insight and parenting solutions. This class has been a big help! I feel a great deal of relief having this kind of help, support and instructions."
